Welcome to Spoony Stories ❤️🥄 Sharing stories is a powerful reminder that we're not alone. Each week, we share stories from our vibrant community to hear all about their experiences being neurodivergent, chronically ill and disabled, and to get to know some of the voices that make our Spoony community so wonderful. This week, we chat with Christine from Canada!

Spoony Stories - meet Christine! 👋

Welcome to Spoony Stories ❤️🥄 How lucky are we to have the kindest community on Spoony! One of the best parts of the week is getting to know some of the wonderful people on Spoony, and learning more about their experiences with neurodivergence, chronic illness and disability.

This week, we've been chatting with Christine from Canada. She shares about what it's like to have an intellectual learning disability, what she loves about Spoony, and much more! ♥️

Are you neurodivergent, chronically ill, and/or disabled?

Neurodivergent.

What health conditions do you have?

I have an intellectual learning disability.

How do you explain your health conditions to other people?

It's tough. But I explain that it is what it is and people have to get used to it.

What impact do your health conditions have on your daily life?

It has a big impact on my daily living skills. I sometimes need help with things that others don't.

What barriers have you experienced in making friends and connecting with people?

It's hard to make friends when people don't understand. I have a lot of interests and that's helped me click with new friends because we have interests in common.

What's been your experience on Spoony so far?

My favourite part about Spoony is that everyone is so kind and so friendly.

Each week, we share stories from the incredible Spoony community in our newsletter, podcast, and on social media. Share your story with us.
